George J. Ellis, III, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®

Mr. Ellis is a founding officer and Principal owner of SFMC, Inc. He is a graduate of Frostburg State University with a BS in Economics, and minors in Accounting and Business Administration. He has been involved in the management of community associations since 1988, and has successfully transitioned many communities from developer to homeowner control, maintaining the client relationship for many years thereafter. Mr. Ellis has experience in all areas of property and financial management, currently managing communities throughout the area with combined assets of over $1,000,000, and combined budgets of over $2,000,000. In addition to his knowledge of management and associated legal matters, Mr. Ellis specializes in community association budgeting. 


 

 


Kathy A. Simonovich, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®

Ms. Simonovich joined the team at SFMC in October 1998 and became an owner in October 2004. She has been involved in the management of community associations since 1994, and has successfully transitioned many communities from developer to homeowner control. Ms. Simonovich has experience in all areas of property and financial management. She is responsible for the quality of service offered to clients, as well as the day-to-day operations of the organization. This includes the direct oversight of the physical and financial management of the clients and staff. 


 

 



Paul L. Orlando, CMCA®, LSM®, PCAM®

Mr. Orlando has over 30 years’ experience in the successful practice of community association management and is known and respected both locally and nationally as a leader in the association management field.

Paul received a bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation Services from Southern Connecticut State University. He earned his CMCA designation in 1996 and his PCAM designation in 2001, and also holds the LSM (Large Scale Manager) designation from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). His experience includes involvement in the management of some of the largest community associations in Northern Virginia, including 2 on-site, General Manager positions. Paul’s activity with CAI includes service on the Washington Metropolitan Chapter’s Virginia Legislative Committee and Board of Directors, National CAI’s Virginia Legislative Action Committee (since 2003), National’s Government & Public Affairs Committee and as a member of the National Faculty.

In 2011 Paul was recognized for his distinguished service to the profession by being inducted into the Washington Metropolitan Chapter Hall of Fame. Other CAI awards Paul has received include Virginia Public Advocate, Educator of the Year, Recruiter of the Year, and Chapter Appreciation. Paul was also recognized by the Common Interest Community Board in Richmond for his service on 2 committees that drafted licensing and certification regulations for management companies and their employees.

Paul is responsible for a broad range of matters within the SFMC firm, including manager training, business development and client retention.

 





Dana Mirch, CMCA®, AMS®

Dana’s career in community association management began in 2004 working part time in the accounting department of a local large management firm while attending George Mason University.  Once graduated, Dana was hired full time and worked in both the accounting and management divisions, holding different positions in both departments throughout the past eight years.  Her different roles give Dana the added benefits of knowing both the financial and operational management side of the business. 

 Dana joined SFMC in June 2012, and in 2017 was promoted to the role of Vice President of Management, leading our team of onsite and portfolio managers as well as interacting directly with other SFMC clients. Dana has earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA and Association Management Sepcialist (AMS) designations from the Community Associatons Institute (CAI).  In her spare time, Dana works for several homeoners associations as their independent recording secretary in addition to serving as Board President of the community in which she lives.





Suzanne Allen

Suzanne has over 15 years of experience in the financial management of community associations. She is a graduate of Averett College in Danville, VA with a BA in Accounting and Political Science. She is also a graduate of George Mason University with an MA in International Commerce and Policy. As CFO, Suzanne is responsible for all corporate financial matters and oversees all client operations within the accounting department. She also prepares the financial reports for a number of SFMC's larger associations and coordinates client audit and tax preparation services with outside accounting firms.
